![]() I decided to do a mission and get the level. When I hit 110 without seeing the message, I thought maybe I'd just missed it, although something was kind of nagging me in the back of my mind about the past times when I had seen the message and what I'd been doing at the time.įinally, earlier today, I noticed that I was really close to leveling up to level 115. I decided not to worry about it, and just kept playing and leveling up. When I finally reached level 100 about 10 days ago, as expected I didn't see the 100% message. This didn't make a lot of sense to me, but I couldn't find more information. I tried to search for more information about why the stat wasn't increasing immediately on reaching level 60/80/etc., and just got vague, non-evidence-based semi-answers about an online character's basic "DNA" chosen at the time the character is first made. It took even longer when I got to level 80 - in fact, I didn't see the 80% max health message until sometime around level 89. In fact, I didn't see it until around level 63 or so. However, when I reached level 60, I didn't see the message right away. I searched for information about this and learned that your max health is a hidden stat that increases by 20% each 20 levels until it hits 100%. Since starting GTA Online a while back, I noticed that about the time I hit level 40, I got a message that my max health stat had increased to 40% of max health. Tl:dr I believe that an online character's hidden max health stat only increases when a qualifying level-up (40+/60+/80+/100+) occurs while you are actively in a mission, and not during a mission-completion scene level-up or a free-roam level-up.
